420 Smoke & Stretch: Back Pain (part 1 of 4)

A stretch that supports back pain that you can do in 4:20 minutes or less!

Back pain can be so debilitating! We want to do our due diligence to keep our spines strong with good posture and mobile to keep them healthy and happy. Here are a few stretches to encourage wide range of motion and elongated.

YOGA POSE: LOW LUNGE - ANJANEYASANA

  • Props: blanket under knees for those sensitive
  • Main Points in Posture:
    • Lengthen your tailbone down; Pull your belly in. Our lower back is much more mobile and more prone to injury.
    • Draw inner thighs in. Legs must be active!
    • Avoid overly bending in the lower back! Keep your core engaged. Strong core = happy back.
  • Lovely for those constantly sitting. Your psoas is connected to the bottom three vertebrae and is “shortened” as you sit and slouch. When you lengthen this muscle it certainly helps your posture and relieves lower back pain.
